If you are considering studying at NUI Maynooth in 2010 then why not come along to our Open Days on November 27th and 28th. There will be talks on all of our degree programmes, stands with info from each department, and plenty of staff and students on hand to give you advice or just have a chat.  Things kick off at 10.00am on Friday 27th November in the John Hume Building on the North Campus, and at 11.00am on Saturday 28th November. If you are a new student coming to NUI Maynooth I hope you will find these pages useful. If you have any questions, and I mean ANY, please leave a comment below, or on any of the other pages above. Remember, if you’re wondering about something, someone else probably is too. You can also join the the “NUIM Admissions” group on facebook, where you can also ask questions and say hello to other new (and returning) students. Accountancy Prizes Awarded

The 4th annual NUIM Accountancy Showcase took place on Tuesday December 9th 2008 in NUI Maynooth’s beautiful south campus. All the leading professional firms including PWC, E&Y,KPMG and Deloitte attended as well as the Irish Accounting and Taxation Institutes.
This was a tremendous opportunity for the students to learn more about a career in Accountancy whilst also showcasing NUIM students to the Accounting profession.There are presently 300 students studying the BA Finance & Accounting degree at NUIM. The 1st year KPMG prize was presented to Claire Buckley, the 2nd year E&Y prize was presented to Pamela Gumley and the 3rd year PWC prize was presented to Philip Murphy.
The new Masters in Accounting at NUIM was offically launched at the Showcase by President Professor John Hughes and two new academic prizes- The KPMG prize for the top MAcc student and the IFS prize for the top MAcc Thesis were announced.
The keynote address was by Paul O’Connor ( Partner in PWC and Vice- President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland).
The evening was a great success with hundreds of students in attendance.

NUI Maynooth named University of the year

University of the year

NUI Maynooth was named as the “University of the Year 2008” in the Sunday Times University Guide.   

The award caps a highly successful year for NUI Maynooth which has seen it record the highest increase in CAO first preferences, attracting the strongest flow of research funding and forging links with leading industries. It has also jumped three places to fourth place on the Sunday Times’ league table.  

“NUI Maynooth is now one of the four top universities in Ireland and is making an impressive global impact through its teaching partnership with the computer chip manufacturer Intel,” says Ian Coxon, Editor of The Sunday Times University Guide.  “NUI Maynooth’s excellent results on research funding and graduate employment plus its impeccable record on encouraging access to groups normally excluded from third-level education are three of the key factors that have led us to vote it The Sunday Times University of the Year for 2008.”
